About Us

OUR HISTORY

Our small group gathering began in September 2008 in Washington, DC. Shortly after the establishment in DC, we moved to a location at 1010 Ripley St, Silver Spring, MD 20910 in 2009, where we stayed for over a decade. During those years that we stayed at 1010 Ripley St, our church expanded with multiple dimensions both in number of attendees and composition of ministries. In the meantime, the Church had gone thru various ups and downs in which God’s mercy and provision was crucial and unforgettable.

In 2014, the weekdays worship and prayer in Arlington, VA was also another small beginning that God had turned into our second location, now called Addis Lidet Church Springfield location. The humble beginning of the Springfield Virginia location had targeted the church members who used to participate in two home cells located in Alexandria, VA later the number grown up to the recent 7 home cells in Virginia alone. The home cells we have in Maryland are about 15 and the number is increasing year after year.

Addis Lidet Church successfully acquired its worship place in June 2021 by purchasing the current building at 11961 Tech Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904. Additionally, we have launched a fundraising drive to acquire a second property in Springfield, VA, where our congregation is growing rapidly.

DOCTRINE

We believe in:

One in essence, yet three in persons: the Father, the Son , and the Holy Spirit.

Through faith in Jesus Christ.

Symbolizes a believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Commemorates the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the Cross and His redemptive work and fosters the sense of unity among believers.

Is the ongoing process of becoming holy or set apart for God’s purposes. It also involves the believer’s journey of spiritual growth and transformation into the Christ-likeness.

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is to fulfill biblical prophecies, judge the living and the dead, and establish God’s final kingdom.

God’s Judgment is the divine assessment of human actions based on the standard of God’s righteousness.

Is a community of believers who gather for worship, fellowship, and the study of the Bible. It serves as a spiritual family where individuals come together to grow in their faith, support one another, and engage in collective worship.

Is the inspired and infallible Word of God, containing the teachings and revelations necessary for faith and practice.

Is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman, based on biblical principles.
